From a very young age I felt myself pulled towards the arts. From woods and metal class to movies, TV and music, I loved it all. I also felt that “rush” I would get when I would make my family laugh or smile at something I was doing. I pretty much knew from day one I would end up as an artist.
My journey has taken me all of over this country. North to south and coast to coast. You could say I am truly living the life of the traveling performer. Packing and unpacking my trunk never knowing when and where I will be settling down. Sometimes it’s a year or two. Sometimes it’s a decade or more.
What IS constant in my pursuit is my love of the craft. I have an amazing mentor who taught me the love of what I do. If I never work another day as an actor, he has made me a better human being. You cannot ask for anything more than that.
But, thankfully, I am working and I love what I do. Having the chance to do that is something that I never take for granted. To be able to effect people. To be able to take them away from their worries for even just a little while. To be able to take a writer’s words and bring them to life. What an honor that is.
I don’t know where this journey is going to take me, but I will continue enjoying the exploration with an open heart and an open mind. And I thank YOU for taking it with me. I will leave you with one of the keys to happiness . . . In life, don’t strive for perfection. Strive for better!
